Scott has over 20 years of business experience in the IT industry as a programmer, trainer, consultant, sales engineer, sales rep, and college professor. He is a 1994 graduate of the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and did his masters studies at Kean University

Patty has worked as a one to one behavior therapist and case manager in the home and school settings for over 12 years. She became a case manager for three nonpublic agencies and has monitored clients receiving early intervention behavioral services. She has worked the past three years as a Behavior Support Specialist for Oakley Union Elementary School District and Liberty Union High School District where she assisted in the development and monitoring of the Autism specific non-verbal and emerging speaker class. Additionally, Patty has provided consult to the district’s classes for students with emotional disturbances, special day classes, students with behavioral needs in general education classes, Life Skills Special Day Classes at the high school level, and the Liberty’s Adult Education program, called Gateway. She has conducted staff development and training for those working with clients ages 3-22.
Methods of teaching:
DTT- discrete trial training uses ABA principles to teach an array of skills ranging from academics, fine motor, self-help, etc., Skills are broken down into the smallest tasks and taught individually until mastered. Then the child moves on to more complicated skills.
Applied Verbal Behavior - Based off Skinner’s Verbal Behavior. Speech or verbal behaviors are taught and reinforced. Children are taught to use language to communicate their needs.
Pivotal Response Training (PRT) - Child lead, play based ABA therapy that targets critical skills such a child’s motivation, response to multiple cues, self-management and the initiation of social interactions. Our staff and parent teach important skills by capitalizing off of their child’s interest in the natural environment.
Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) - Typically used by children with limited verbal communication skills. It is based off of Skinner’s Verbal Behavior book. Parents and children are taught in stages how to initiate requests and develop more complex expressive language. It was developed by Pyramid Educational Consultants, Inc.
Social Skills Training - Guiding Behavior Outcomes uses a variety of research based social skills curriculum to address your child’s individual social needs.
